Frequently asked questions
What documents do I need to open a company in Mexico as a resident?
As a Mexican resident you need: valid official ID (INE or passport), CURP, RFC (tax ID) if you have one, a recent proof of address and the details of all partners. Quickcorp then drafts the articles of incorporation and files them with the Public Registry of Commerce.
What are the requirements for a foreigner?
A foreigner needs: a valid passport for each partner, a recent proof of address (no older than 2 months), a foreign tax identification number, and — only if signing in person — a migratory form (FM3 or temporary residency). With Quickcorp the signature is digital and remote, so in most cases you do not need to travel to Mexico.
Is there a minimum capital to incorporate?
The law sets no mandatory minimum capital for the S.A. de C.V. or S. de R.L. de C.V.; the partners decide the amount. In practice, $50,000 MXN is a common starting share capital, though it can be higher or lower depending on the project.
How many partners are required?
An S.A. de C.V. or S. de R.L. de C.V. requires at least 2 partners. The S.A.S. allows a single shareholder. A common alternative is granting a minimal share (1%) to a trusted partner.
What do I receive once the process is complete?
You receive: the articles of incorporation registered with the Public Registry of Commerce, the company RFC (tax ID), the e-signature (e.firma) and support to open your corporate bank account. With these your company can invoice and operate legally.
